GJTT TEEN ADVISORY BOARD

The purpose of the Teen Advisory Board is to promote and support team tennis in the Upstate in conjunction with GJTT.  This group offers an opportunity for our teen players to acquire leadership skills, learn about serving our community by using their tennis & service abilities, and to support team tennis in the Upstate.

We are currently building the 2021 GJTT Teen Advisory Board.  Local junior tennis players (ages 13 and up) who participate in organized team tennis, including GJTT leagues, team tournaments and/or high school tennis (Varsity or JV) are invited to join in.

WHAT ?

GJTT Teen Advisory Board members will do three things:
  1. Serve as an ambassador between GJTT and local high schools, informing school tennis communities of additional team tennis opportunities, including  off-season high school leagues and local / state team tournaments (ex: GJTT Advanced Invitational, JV High School Tournament in Florence)
  2. Volunteer for on-court support of younger GJTT players during GJTT Play Days and U8/U10 league matches
  3. Lead / participate in yearly community tennis service project(s) as determined by Board

WHY ?

  • Service hours
  • Leadership opportunity
  • Help build team tennis in your high school
  • Share your love of the game with U8 / U10 kids just getting started
  • Have fun with your tennis friends from across the Upstate

How much time will it take?

Members will be asked to commit to a one-year term (calendar year) plus the following:
  • Attend quarterly planning meetings (four 1-hour meetings / year on Sunday afternoons)
  • Volunteer on-court with younger GJTT players (3-6 hours per semester)
  • Facilitate communications with your school tennis community (1-2 hours per semester)
  • Additional responsibilities for leadership positions

How can I sign up?
