UJTT TEEN ADVISORY BOARD


WHAT ?  

     UJTT Teen Advisory Board members will do three things:
  1. Serve as an ambassador between UJTT and local high schools, informing school tennis communities of additional team tennis opportunities, including  off-season high school leagues and local / state team tournaments (ex: GJTT Advanced Invitational, JV High School Tournament in Florence)
  2. Volunteer for on-court support of younger GJTT players during GJTT Play Days and U8/U10 league matches
  3. Lead / participate in yearly community tennis service project(s) as determined by Board
       OFFICERS
  • President:  Present at every meeting. Helps the UJTT staff & League leadership
          with responsibilities such as contacting players, publicity, tournaments, league
          events and all community service projects.  Shows leadership and maturity at
          meetings.  Has innovative ideas and contributes to the strategic planning to
          expand the possibilities of the council. 
  • Vice President:  Present at every meeting. Assists the President in all duties. 
  • Secretary:  Records minutes from each meeting and e-mails minutes to all
          members. 
  • Treasurer:  Handles and manages fundraiser monies in coordination with the
          GJTT Adult Sponsor. 
  • Community Service Coordinator:  Helps all members complete the 20 hours of
          community service and promotes all events to members.

How much time will it take?

Members will be asked to commit to a one-year term (calendar year) plus the following:
  • Attend quarterly planning meetings (four 1-hour meetings / year on Sunday afternoons)
  • Volunteer on-court with younger UJTT players (3-6 hours per semester)
  • Facilitate communications with your school tennis community (1-2 hours per semester)
  • ​Additional responsibilities for leadership positions
  • 20 hours of community service per calendar year through the programs that
    UJTT promotes.
